Jazzin´Ribe - 16 years on: still youthful and sparkling!

Ribe Jazz Festival 2008, like its predecessors, is the child of the local jazz club, Jazzin´Ribe, which has existed in its present form for 16 years now, and annually organises 10 concerts at various venues in and around Ribe.

Jazzin´ Ribe's definition of jazz is broad, and has two important criteria: we insist on quality, and we will give young talents on the jazz scene the opportunity to show their potential.

We have the support of a loyal audience throughout the year, but there is room for more. If you would care to join us for a series of exhilarating musical experiences, come along to our concerts, and bring a couple of friends! You get the whole thing at a special reduced price if you join the club.

Since all the Jazzin`Ribe work - both the ordinary concerts and the festival - is voluntary, we have plenty on our plates. But we LUUUV jazz, so we keep at it. The Ribe Jazz Festival has many volunteers who come forward year after year. We would be happy to see more. If you would like to lend a hand, either through the year or at the Ribe Jazz Festival, just get in touch with a member of the Jazzin' Ribe committee. You'll find us all over, on the door, behind the MC's microphone, pulling wagons and shaking collection cans, lugging gear and instruments, or, after the show, with our feet on the table and a cold one at hand, mulling over the day's fine music, telling stories, or resolving to do something differently next year.

Jazzin' Ribe membership costs 100 kr and 50 kr for students, gives a rebate on concert tickets and you support the club. Looking forward to seeing you at the concerts. You will be welcome, member or no.
